Lecture Overview

Headaches are an extremely common condition, affecting approximately one in four people.

Among them, migraines can be especially debilitating—some patients are forced to miss school or work due to the severity of their symptoms. In recent years, headache treatment has been advancing rapidly, with the introduction of migraine-specific medications such as triptans and ditans, as well as preventive treatments like anti-CGRP drugs.

In this lecture, I will explain the mechanisms behind headaches, the standard treatments outlined in clinical guidelines, and traditional Kampo (Japanese herbal) medicine approaches—all in a way that is as easy to understand as possible.
