Dr. Naho Hattori is a neurologist and board-certified sleep medicine specialist practicing in the United States. In this lecture, she will discuss key topics in the field of sleep medicine. Lecturer Profile

After completing the first year of Shoei Girls’ Senior High School, she began studying abroad independently at the age of 16. Following her studies in Ireland, she graduated from a private high school in Virginia, USA. She went on to attend Emory University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Neurology and Behavioral Biology. She completed her basic medical sciences at the American University of Antigua School of Medicine in Antigua and Barbuda and subsequently obtained her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree after clinical training in the continental United States. She then completed her internal medicine residency at Florida Atlantic University, followed by a neurology residency at Loma Linda University. After serving as a faculty physician at Loma Linda University Medical Center, she completed a fellowship in sleep medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She currently practices primarily as a faculty physician at Guam Regional Medical City, while traveling between Guam and Tokyo.

Lecture Overview

Dr. Naho Hattori began her independent journey abroad at the age of sixteen and is currently practicing as a neurologist and sleep medicine specialist in Guam, the U.S. territory closest to Japan. In this lecture, she will provide an overview of fundamental concepts in sleep medicine, together with clinical insights gained through her sleep medicine fellowship training in the United States. The lecture aims to deepen participants’ understanding of the unique characteristics of sleep medicine as a specialty and its clinical importance.
