Exploring Disease Mechanisms
Through Patterns of Skin Manifestations
Patterns can be observed on the human body in the form of fingerprints, palm prints, and the distribution of body hair, and similar pattern formations are seen across mammals’ fur, birds’ feathers, reptiles’ scales, and the markings of fish. Likewise, various patterns can also emerge in the formation of lesions in human diseases. The skin is an ideal organ for observing and analyzing pattern formation in pathological processes. This presentation will introduce approaches that aim to unravel the underlying disease mechanisms by studying the patterns of skin manifestations.

Dr. Akiharu Kubo comes highly recommended by Dr. Yasushi Okada. He has conducted extensive omics analyses of the skin. I believe we can look forward to an exciting talk on the correlations between skin patterns and diseases.
