Liamics Research Association
– A Bridge to Next-Generation Medicine
The Liamics Research Association is a novel medical research platform that connects clinics with university hospitals and research institutions, bridges different medical specialties and disciplines, and fosters collaboration among researchers both in Japan and around the world.
Our mission is to establish a bidirectional bridge between practical data from clinical settings and basic research, aiming to realize patient-centered, evidence-based medicine.
We also actively apply omics analysis at the clinic level to generate comprehensive, high-precision data. Through partnerships with research institutions, we pursue innovative medical developments that explore the interaction between environmental factors and gene expression.

Our Vision
Bridging Clinical Practice and Basic Research
We aim to elucidate disease pathophysiology, support drug discovery, and establish new therapeutic approaches by using basic research to compare and analyze successful and unsuccessful treatment cases observed in clinical practice.
In this way, the Liamics Research Association functions as a reverse translational platform —"from clinic to laboratory"— complementing the traditional lab-to-clinic model.
We believe that participation from a wide network of clinics and the creation of high-quality big data are key to shaping the future of medicine.

Connecting Experts Across Medical Specialties and Disciplines
As medical specialization becomes more segmented, it can lead to fragmented care — patients being bounced between departments, and clinicians developing overly narrow expertise.
To counter this, we facilitate discussions across different specialties and fields, encouraging the exchange of knowledge and dismantling barriers between disciplines.

From Environment and Genetics Informed Multi Omics to Innovative Therapeutics
Even within a single species, DNA sequences differ among individuals. By considering not only genetic polymorphisms but also lifestyle, environmental, and social factors, we conduct multi-omics analyses of clinical data to explore how these variables affect disease onset and progression.
This integrated approach paves the way for drug development and breakthrough therapies that go beyond the limits of conventional pharmaceutical models.

A Platform Linking Medical Students with Research Labs and Clinical Departments
Liamics also serves as a platform connecting medical students with research laboratories and clinical departments facing recruitment challenges.
Through interactions within our association, students can gain insight into the value and potential of medical research—fostering the next generation of clinician-scientists.

Connecting Researchers Across Borders
We promote real-time hybrid collaboration using AI-based translation tools, enabling seamless interaction among researchers worldwide.
By expanding individual networks, we aim to build cooperative frameworks that transcend national and institutional boundaries.
Liamics is committed to becoming a global platform for international research networking.

Linking Members with Talent and Knowledge Resources
To address the shortage of skilled professionals, we are building a database of human resources with relevant expertise.
At the same time, we are curating a comprehensive knowledge base by archiving lectures and presentations delivered at our association.
These resources are available for members to utilize broadly.
